On Thursday 21 May, the Commission held a ceremonial closing hearing in Brisbane for the Commission of Inquiry into Queensland's Child Safety System.
Following 11 months of deep investigation and analysis, the ceremonial closing hearing provided an opportunity for the Commissioner and Senior Counsel Assisting to provide an overview of how the Commission conducted its work, including key themes that have emerged and the direction of the final report.
The ceremonial closing hearing did not hear any new evidence from witnesses or discuss the Commissioner’s findings and recommendations.
