Young people and children

About the Commission

The Commission’s job is to look into problems in the child safety system. The Commission will also look at how to make the system better, to keep Queensland children safer.

We want to hear directly from young people and children who have been in out-of-home care, or are in care now. This includes if you are or have been in:

  • foster care
  • kinship care
  • residential care
  • any other out-of-home care.

You can tell us about your own story of being in care. You can also tell us about problems with the child safety system that you know about.

We also want to hear from you if you are a young person and you are a foster carer or kinship carer for someone else.

How to contact us

If you want to share your story and information with the Commission, you can do this in a few different ways:

If you're not sure what you want to say, you can fill out our survey.

To help you, the survey has questions about child safety and about being in care. You don't have to answer all the questions. You can tell us as much or as little as you want.

The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete.
